At Alfajar Shades we design and install PVC tent structures of all sizes and configurations across Dubai and UAE. Our structures use heavy-duty hot-dip galvanised steel or high-tensile aluminium frames — depending on the application and duration of use — covered with 650 GSM or higher PVC-coated polyester membrane. The PVC membrane is 100% waterproof, fully opaque for complete sun and heat blocking, and rated for UAE’s extreme UV conditions.
Every structure we install is custom-designed for the specific site, floor area, clearance height and end use. We handle the full process from site survey and design through fabrication, installation and handover. For semi-permanent and long-term installations, we can advise on the permit requirements with the relevant UAE authority and assist with the application process.

How long can PVC tents last in UAE conditions?
The lifespan of a PVC tent structure depends heavily on the quality of the materials and the regularity of maintenance. Our 650 GSM PVC membrane is UV-stabilised and typically rated for 10 years. Hot-dip galvanised steel frames last 20+ years with proper care. For long-term use, we recommend annual inspection — checking frame integrity, PVC seam condition, anchor points and drainage. Structures that are well-maintained regularly exceed their rated design life.
Can PVC tents be used as permanent structures in UAE?
PVC tent structures can function as semi-permanent structures in UAE and are widely used for multi-year labour camp accommodation, storage facilities and event venues. For installations intended to last more than 12 months, we recommend a hot-dip galvanised heavy steel frame with a 650 GSM or 750 GSM PVC membrane. Permanent installations may require a permit from Dubai Municipality, TRAKHEES or the relevant emirate authority. We can advise on permit requirements and assist with the application process where needed.
What PVC fabric weights do you use?
We use PVC-coated polyester fabrics in three weights depending on the application. 500 GSM PVC is used for short-term temporary event structures — lightweight and fast to erect. 650 GSM PVC is our standard specification for labour camp accommodation, site offices and medium-duration installations. 750 GSM PVC is specified for long-term semi-permanent structures, industrial warehousing and high-wind exposure sites. All fabric is fire-retardant treated. We bring fabric samples to every site visit so you can compare options before committing.
How fast can PVC tents be installed in UAE?
Installation speed depends on the size and configuration of the structure. A single-bay labour tent of 50–100 sq. metres is typically erected in one day. A multi-bay labour camp structure of 500–1,000 sq. metres typically takes 3–5 days with our full crew. Large-format event tents of 1,000+ sq. metres are typically completed in 5–7 days including side walls, flooring provisions and all finishing. We confirm the installation programme in advance so you can plan the site handover date accurately.
