How much does artificial grass cost in Dubai?
Artificial grass prices in Dubai depend on the product grade, pile height, density and the area to be covered. Landscaping grass starts from approximately AED 25 to AED 50 per square metre for supply and installation. Sports turf for football pitches ranges from AED 50 to AED 120 per square metre depending on the FIFA quality level and whether sub-base and shock pad are included. How long does artificial grass last in UAE?
Quality artificial grass products specifically rated for UAE conditions typically last 8–15 years. Sports turf on heavily used football pitches lasts 8–12 years. Landscaping grass with lower traffic can last 12–15 years. The critical factor in UAE is UV stability — products not specifically UV-stabilised for the UAE’s extreme UV levels can degrade and lose colour within 2–3 years. We only use products rated for UAE conditions.
Does artificial grass get too hot in the UAE summer?
All synthetic turf surfaces absorb heat and will be warmer than natural grass under direct sun — this is a characteristic of synthetic surfaces worldwide. In UAE summer, surface temperatures on artificial turf can be higher than ambient air temperatures. For this reason, most football pitch operators in UAE play during early morning (6–9am) or evening (after sunset) during peak summer months. Watering the surface with a small amount of water before play significantly reduces surface temperature. A shade canopy over seating areas is also commonly installed alongside pitches.
What is FIFA Quality artificial turf?
FIFA Quality is an independent certification programme that tests artificial football turf against 20+ technical parameters including ball roll, shock absorption, traction, surface temperature and durability. There are two levels — FIFA Quality and FIFA Quality Pro (used for professional competitions). For recreational and school football in UAE, FIFA Quality or equivalent sports-grade turf is recommended. Do I need to water artificial grass in Dubai?
Artificial grass requires no regular watering for plant growth — it is synthetic. However, a light water spray before football play in peak UAE summer (June–September) is recommended to reduce surface temperature and provide better player comfort. For landscaping grass, no watering is required at all. This is one of the primary cost and environmental benefits of artificial grass in the UAE’s water-scarce environment.
